I am a mechanical design engineer with over five years of industry experience working on consumer electronics. For the past four years I was employed at a startup developing wearable, recovery-focused devices that leverage optical fiber to deliver red light therapy to users. I thoroughly enjoy solving new and exciting problems that are both technical and user-focused. Additionally, I enjoy constantly learning both within and outside of my field.
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where I received bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and management with a specialization in entrepreneurship and innovation as well as a master’s degree in Robotics. I’ve always been interested in making; before attending college, I spent most of my free time tinkering with projects varying from Lego spaceships to functional humanoid robots. During my years in university, though, my interests shifted from just making one-off prototypes to designing functional, manufacturable goods.
Beyond engineering, I also have several interests and hobbies I pursue. My primary hobby outside of engineering and making is weightlifting. I enjoy progressing at the gym and always try to learn more about the science and technique behind both powerlifting and bodybuilding. I attended an arts high school, where I studied visual arts. Drawing has always been something I’m passionate about, but, recently, I have widened my focus from figure drawings and traditional subjects to industrial design sketching and 2D communication. In recent years, I have also picked up video games as a hobby; beyond just playing them, though, I have an interest in the mechanics behind the games and have spent a significant amount of hours developing simple iOS games.
